Melena Davenport, A.K.A. Mel, joined the AAW team in the summer of 2025. Mel is from New Smyrna Beach, FL and is a proud 2020 graduate of the University of Florida. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and conducted research with the UF Speech Perception Lab where her research primarily focused on sound localization.
Mel’s research received several awards during her time here. She took her skills global in her senior year with an audiology internship at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. Mel has received extensive training in private practice, hospitals and ENT offices.
She also has experience as a newborn hearing screener and a hearing conservationist on Ft. Stewart, GA. Mel is a licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist since the fall of 2024 and is passionate about better hearing health for all.
Mel currently resides in Cambridge, MA and lives an active lifestyle. When she's not helping people hear their best, you can catch her flowing through yoga poses, dominating the pickleball court or crafting pottery in her downtime.
